Dr Andy Ward has been a pioneer of in-building location tracking systems for over 20 years. He has been instrumental in their development from research prototypes into mission-critical industrial deployments in factories worldwide. After a PhD in sensor-driven computing at the University of Cambridge, in 2002 he co-founded and became Chief Technology Officer of Ubisense, a company that supplies location-driven systems to the automotive, aerospace, transit and military sectors, and which floated on the AIM stock market in 2011.

An inventor with 19 granted patents, he has played a leading role in developing the technology, standards and worldwide regulations for ultra-wideband location tracking systems.
