Professor Terry Wilkins has developed novel technologies that have had a significant impact on industry. His innovative high-speed measurement systems have netted users enormous financial benefit and he has also influenced industry thinking as to how to use these ideas.

He has continued this influence and facilitation through membership of many policy-guiding committees both in the UK and in the EU, particularly in the area of nano-particles and their health impact.
