Geoff McFarland is an engineer who has specialised in 3D co-ordinated metrology and its applications to manufacturing technology and medicine for more than 20 years. He has led the development of multiple innovative measuring products that have become standard tools in aerospace and automotive sectors and is named as inventor on more than 50 patents.

He believes in multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and that innovative products and manufacturing can create wealth for countries. He has maintained his strong involvement with academia through active links to multiple universities and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council to develop future generations of engineers.
