Former Group Director, Engineering & Technology, Rolls-Royce plc

When he was Group Director of Engineering and Technology for Rolls-Royce, Chris Barkey was responsible for delivering engineering programmes across the five divisions of the company, covering aerospace, nuclear, marine and power systems. He was accountable for the safety of the company’s products and responsible for 18,000 engineers and technologists worldwide.

Chris joined Rolls-Royce 29 years ago, and successfully delivered major engineering projects, including the design and development of gas turbine engines in military, civil aerospace and industrial power applications, working in Bristol, Derby and Montreal. This breadth of experience and demonstrated engineering strength resulted in his appointment as Group Director of Engineering and Technology in January 2016.
