Lorna Bennet

Lorna is a Project Engineer at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult.

She is involved in both research and design projects, with a background in mechanical design and project management. Lorna engages with SMEs, organisations and academia to address industry challenges through technology innovation and research.

She currently leads projects in Energy Transition and circular economy, aiming to transform the energy sector and accelerate the UK’s transition to net-zero. Lorna is also responsible for the STEM engagement strategy across the company’s Scottish sites.

Working with local and national organisations and charities she has driven community engagement, promoting STEM careers and the importance of renewable energy and sustainability.

In 2018/19 Lorna received funding from the Academy’s Ingenious public engagement awards to develop STEM outreach activities for local schools.
