Dr Ahilan Ahilan FREng

Energy transition requires understanding of the current situation with the vision to capture emerging opportunities. Engineering graduates need to think creatively as requirements extend beyond the technical to enable a secure transition that works for everyone. Having spent much of his career in Oil & Gas/Shipping and recently in renewables, Ahilan has developed a strategy to accelerate the business transition from oil & gas and shipping, to renewables, electrification, emission reduction, CCUS  and green fuels while addressing climate adaptation and resilience. He will bring this unique and valuable experience to our students, preparing them for the technological and societal challenges they will face in their careers.
