Visiting Professor
Tim is a leading practitioner is systems engineering with extensive experience from both customer and supply sides across a range of domains primarily within the defence and aerospace sectors. He has played a significant role in developing UK practice in this area and promoting this professional discipline. He has also contributed to several international standards and has co-authored a professional book on systems architecting. Tim works for QinetiQ plc where he is a chief engineer and a senior fellow, the latter recognising his expertise, influence and innovation in the field of systems engineering. He holds mathematics degrees from the University of Oxford, is a Chartered Engineer, and a member of several professional institutions. The grant seeks to further develop Loughborough University’s curriculum and delivery in systems engineering, especially in advancing model-based systems engineering and related areas. This will draw upon Tim’s relevant industrial experience and understanding from solving real world problems. This aligns closely with his industrial role and builds upon his goals to strengthen the discipline and develop the next generation of practitioners.
