Visiting Professor
Mr Shinde is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, bringing over 11 years of expertise in Design, Additive Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma. With an unwavering commitment to creating inclusive learning environments, he champions experience-led approaches in engineering education. His strong industrial experience has honed the skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and innovative thinking with particular interest in industrialising additive manufacturing technologies such as Laser Blown Powder. He has completed Lean Six Sigma Green and Statistical Estimation Analyst accreditation with Rolls-Royce and is currently going through Black Belt Accreditation. He won the prestigious Dr Mark Sims Memorial Award from University of Leicester (UoL) as a distinguished alumni. He is a member of the AESQ an international consortium for the Process Control Methods. He led a team of Rolls-Royce volunteers over past three years at UoL helping students to enhances employability skills and cultivating "T-Shaped" Engineer model. As an alumnus of the UoL, he takes immense pride in contributing to his alma mater's mission of advancing excellence in engineering education and research. His commitment lies in fostering collaboration between academia and industry, promoting diversity and inclusion, and propelling the engineering field forward. In his Visiting professor role, through industrial lectures, workshops, and support of specific teaching modules, he will bring industrial experience to help students develop the knowledge and skillset required by industry to enhance student employability and teaching experience.
