Visiting Professor
Amer joined Airbus as part of the graduate scheme in 2007 and is currently working as a Technology Manager responsible for developing and delivering innovative technology solutions within the business. During his time at Airbus, Amer has worked across serial and development aircraft programmes, and led major collaborative research projects with the industry and academia. His extensive experience working across different aircraft programmes and trans-national projects has provided him with valuable insights into industrial challenges related to aircraft manufacture. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Manufacturing Technology, Amer possesses a strong academic foundation. He furthered his knowledge by earning an MBA from the University of Chester, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Sheffield. The visiting professor role will give Amer the opportunity to get involved in the Level 7 apprenticeship programme at Cranfield University and help establish a strong link with Airbus. His aim would be to give apprentices the opportunity to work on some challenging projects to gain essential skills and experience in a factory environment.
