Dr Zainab Dangana

Dr. Zainab is an accomplished Innovation Construction Professional with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Her expertise lies in optimizing sustainable innovations to enhance building performance, which formed the focus of her Ph.D. research. During her tenure as a KTP Associate, Dr. Zainab successfully commercialized her research findings in collaboration with Wates Group which led to the establishment of 'Wates Sustainable Technology Services' (WSTS) in 2017 and she later founded the 'Wates Innovation Network' portal in 2021. It is the first initiative of its kind and an industry-leading network to accelerate the transition to net-zero by showcasing smarter solutions to design, construct and maintain buildings. Her multidimensional approach to knowledge transfer ensures that students and professionals alike benefit from her expertise in driving sustainability and innovation within the construction sector. With her knowledge/experience to decarbonize the building industry with sustainable innovations she will enhance teaching and learning using Industry-based projects, support student's development in product innovation aligned to maturing new technologies, inspiring students to find solutions for today's environmental concerns.
