Visiting Professor
Dr Raphael Grech is a distinguished Technical Strategist specialising in Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) for Connected Autonomous Mobility. Dr Grech has 22 years of industrial experience and a strong academic background. Raphael possesses an Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, an MPhil in Mobile Robot Control, and a PhD in Multi-Robot Vision and Perception. He is also a UK Chartered Engineer, an IET Member, and a Senior IEEE Member. In his role, Dr Grech shapes the company's technical direction, product offerings, and business plans by staying ahead of emerging technologies and engaging with potential partners. He provides expertise in technical strategy, system architecture design and innovation for new PNT applications. Additionally, Dr Grech drives collaborative research activities with over 30 universities worldwide. With this grant, Dr Grech will work closely with Cardiff University to foster research and innovation in PNT for Robotics and Autonomous Systems and help grow the next generation of engineers and scientists with the necessary skills and aptitude needed for this fast-moving technology sector.
