Visiting Professor
Dr Wishart is an Executive Partner in IBM leading the Digital Engineering practice looking after a range of engineering clients in engineering, energy, and environment sectors. Prior to a 25-year business career, Dr Wishart started by undertaking a PhD in AI at Sheffield University followed by post-doctoral research at UCL where he lectured and published on AI Visual Recognition Systems. He then moved into industry where he has worked extensively with digital engineering technologies across a range of industrial, energy, and environmental sectors. As a consultant, he has led initiatives to drive innovation into multi-billion pound capital delivery programmes in the utility sector and to upgrade asset management systems on national infrastructure. He is responsible for leading a group of over 100 consultants with domain expertise across digital engineering, asset management and supply chain operations. As a Royal Academy Visiting Professor, Dr Wishart will help develop the established Advanced Digital Energy Systems Masters Programme and inform developing apprenticeship programmes in the areas of energy transition, AI, data analytics and emerging technologies such as quantum computing.
