Dr Williams Olughu

Dr Olughu is a Senior Principal Scientist and Bioprocess Analytical Lead at Ipsen Biopharm Ltd UK.  Over the years, he has been opportune to work as an academic researcher and an industrial scientist in biotechnology and bioprocess engineering.  An experience which gives him a unique understanding of the challenges of translating fundamental concepts from the laboratory to large-scale commercial manufacturing processes.  These challenges have involved resolving complex interdisciplinary problems in developing numerous biological modalities, such as vaccines, neurotoxins, platform biochemicals, live biotherapies and enzyme replacement therapies.  As a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University, he will be involved in curriculum development by designing industrially relevant study materials and introducing problem-based active learning strategies to foster knowledge and collaboration between industry and academia.
