Visiting Professor
Jason Challender has acquired over thirty years ‘client side’ experience in the UK construction industry and procured numerous successful major construction programmes during this time. He is Director of Estates and Facilities at the University of Salford, member of its Senior Leadership Team and responsible for overseeing a large department of approximately 350 estates and construction related staff. He is a Fellow of three institutions including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Advance Higher Education (AHE) and the Association of Project Managers (APM). Furthermore, he is a Board Director of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the North West Construction Hub. Jason will deliver teaching in his specialist areas of environmental sustainability for engineering and masterplanning of large-scale regeneration, transport and infrastructure projects. As a Visiting Professor at the University of Bolton, Jason aims to expose students to ever-growing challenges in the construction and engineering sector, especially around issues such as environmental sustainability and project team collaboration to enhance their employability. In this regard he will emphasise use of soft skills and behaviours such as collaborative leadership, motivation and finance, to bring together scientific knowledge for optimum outcomes.
