Visiting Professor
Catriona Schmolke has 40 years of experience in the UK and Europe sustainability and infrastructure sector as a hydrogeologist and engineer. Based in Scotland, her career has spanned numerous sectors and major programmes, including renewable energy, nuclear, water, waste, and contaminated land. She also served as Global Executive and Chief Safety Security and Sustainability Officer at Jacobs from 2014 to retirement from full-time executive in 2020. Catriona is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a past Vice President. She was honoured with the CBE for her services to engineering in the 2024 King's New Year Honours.
Catriona currently holds the position of Chair at Artus Air Ltd. Additionally, she serves as a Non-Executive Director for the Scottish Water Group, National Physical Laboratory and NES Fircroft Group Ltd. Catriona is the chair of the Major Projects and Programmes Advisory Council with NPL Ltd. Catriona is a former Visiting Professor of Sustainability, Risk & Resilience at Newcastle University and serves as a lay member and Chair of the Statutory Safety Committee at Strathclyde University.
