Jointly owned by BP Oil UK and Shell UK Oil, British Pipeline Agency (BPA) was founded in the 1960’s to develop, engineer and operate refined product pipelines and terminals. It is now responsible for the management of around 1,000km of liquid fuel pipelines and associated bulk storage, road loading and rail infrastructure around the UK. BPA also provides engineering services and operational solutions to the downstream energy sector worldwide.
ILP graduates from the British Pipeline Agency (BPA) developed a training programme, with a focus on psychological safety, as part of building a strong foundation for BPA’s equality, diversity and inclusion journey.

During my time on the ILP, I am particularly proud to have been part of the start of change, especially within the organisation I represent.
As an inclusive leader, I try to listen to all points of view and walk the talk. I would like to see the wider engineering community be more open to change the old ways of working.
