Hazleen Anuar
Hazleen Anuar is professor at the Department of Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia. Her expertise lies in the creation of useful materials such that it will benefit the Malaysian community and the world and started exploring the usage of durian skin waste since 2011.
Hazleen and her research team have developed a biodegradable filament as an alternative material for 3D printer. This innovation possesses up to 30% of natural fibre improving the performance of biocomposite 3D filament. This material is in line with the “New Plastics Economy”: supporting the circular economy, eliminating waste, maximising value and using plastic efficiently for sustainability.
