Febus Reidj Cruz

Febus Reidj G. Cruz is a registered electronics engineer, experienced researcher, inventor, and associate professor of Electronics Engineering at Mapua University (MAPUA). He received more than 40 awards from MAPUA for his research activities, notably The Cardinal Excellence and Top 10 Performers in Research. In the Alper-Doger Scientific Index 2023, he ranked as one of the best electrical and electronic Engineers in the Philippines.

The SESSY e-Boat runs on electric energy stored in lithium-ion batteries and recharged using an AC plug-in charger. Its navigation and communication equipment is also powered by a flexible solar panel on its roof. It features a locally developed automatic identification system (AIS), which allows the identification and monitoring of the boat, permitting the visibility of vessels with one another to avoid collision and thereby promoting safety. Moreover, the SESSY e-boat's autonomous mode allows for hassle-free and enjoyable rides along the beautiful coastlines.
