Dr Zainiharyati Mohd Zain currently serves as the Deputy Director (Energy and Environment) Research Nexus UiTM. She is also an Associate Professor at the School of Chemistry and Environment, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, Selangor Malaysia. She has won many innovations competitions with gold awards and has granted a patent in 2020 and filed 2 patents in 2022. She is the founder and Managing Director of Ablesen Sdn Bhd.
NACOTS is a miniaturized nucleic acid (gene) detection system that offers a solution for mutated breast cancer genes screening, targeting individuals with a significant family history of breast and ovarian cancer. NACOTS' application can also be expanded beyond the utility of genetic testing in population screening, possessing a huge potential in risk mitigation, treatment management and disease prognosis.
