Ashraf Tahat
A Professor in the Department of Communications/IoT Engineering at PSUT, where he was the Department Chairman. Professor Ashraf Tahat also was the Vice-Chairman of the IEEE-Jordan Section and the Visiting Professor at the Dep. of ECE at McGill University. He earned his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from Illinois Tech and authored/co-authored numerous international journal and conference research articles. He previously worked with 3Com Corporation and was a consultant R&D Engineer with Bell Labs Alcatel-Lucent (AT&T) in the Chicago area in the USA.
This innovation is a structural health monitoring system (SHM) incorporating LoRa wireless IoT connectivity, to extract and provide information about variations in an individual component or in the complete structure. Moreover, its Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning algorithm feature is employed to identify threats to alert the users. This SHM system works towards saving human lives and property protection.
