Engineering Education Systems that are Fit for the Future Conference
Between 24 and 25 September 2018, the Royal Academy of Engineering hosted the Engineering Education systems that are Fit for the Future Conference at Prince Philip House, London. The conference convened awardees from its international programmes, Industry Academia Partnership Programme (IAPP), Higher Education Partnerships in sub-Saharan Africa Programme (HEP SSA) and GCRF Africa Catalyst, alongside the Academy’s UK partners, funders and networks.
The conference aimed to take a systems approach to engineering education and engage the delegates in discussions and presentations on improving and enhancing engineering education. The conference was divided into three sessions: Engaging Young People into Engineering, Enhancing Learning, Teaching and Training and Upskilling the Current Workforce.
On the second day, the delegates were asked to delve deeper into the questions surrounding engineering education, diversity and the mindset needed to become an engineer.
