Speakers

Jackie Bell
Dr Jackie Bell is an award-winning Principal Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London and Honorary Fellow of the University of Liverpool. With a background in mathematical sciences and theoretical particle physics, Jackie now specialises in equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM. She advocates for those from historically underrepresented backgrounds and leads strategic programmes that create more inclusive landscapes within higher education.

Krystina Pearson-Rampeearee
Krystina Pearson-Rampeearee is a multi-award-winning Chartered Engineer and STEM ambassador from Liverpool who works as an engineering delivery lead and early careers lead at BAE Systems. She creates engineering content on social media and owns her own small business, AviateHer. Krystina studied aerospace systems engineering at the University of the West of England and became the first engineer in her family. She is passionate about encouraging and inspiring more young people to consider STEM careers.

Kate Black
Professor Kate Black FREng is CEO of Atomik AM, a pioneering company transforming advanced manufacturing with sustainable, innovative solutions. She leads the integration of advanced chemistry and engineering to help manufacturers cut costs, waste and environmental impact. Kate is a professor of manufacturing at the University of Liverpool and an Academy Fellow. She is recognised for her research, teaching, and commitment to driving sustainable change in industry.

Yusuff Yusuff
Yusuff is an aerospace engineer and Founder of Aeroknite Ltd, exploring how drones and advanced AI can be used to improve lives. His work spans wildfire prediction, drone-based fire mitigation, and aerial communication using holograms, sitting at the intersection of aviation, AI, and climate resilience.

Aled Roberts
Aled is an inventor who completed a PhD in materials engineering at the University of Liverpool before working as a research scientist at the University of Manchester. Here, he developed several methods to produce construction materials on the Moon and Mars, before the COVID-19 pandemic drove him to continue his research underground. He has since founded a startup company, Dekiln, to commercialise his inventions.

Carl Grainger
Carl Grainger is the Founder and Director of Viz Box Ltd, a pioneering health technology company based on the Wirral that specialises in virtual reality solutions for mental health and stroke rehabilitation. He established Viz Box Ltd in 2018, drawing on a background in developing virtual reality experiences to support people with PTSD, anxiety, and diverse health challenges. He also developed the Skyla NR™, his flagship virtual reality application designed to support upper limb stroke recovery and enhance wellbeing.
