Professor Paul Beasley FREng

Professor Paul Beasley is an acknowledged leader in novel research across a diverse range of areas such as superconducting magnets, particle accelerators, and green energy systems, including living labs for which he has demonstrated a practical route to industrial deployment. He was Siemens Head of R&D UK for the past 10 years, where he was also recognised as a Principal Innovator, a global accolade received in recognition of excellence in engineering design. This included co-designing one of the most open-bore MRI superconducting magnet systems. In his role he brought substantial research to UK research and innovation ecosystem across all sectors of the company portfolio, resulting in several visiting professorships. He is currently part-time Industrial Professor at the University of Birmingham.
