Professor Mark Williams FREng
Head of the Metrology and Visualisation Research Group, WMG, University of Warwick
Professor Mark Williams uses digital, imaging, metrological, and additive technologies to solve practical problems across sectors including automotive, aerospace, forensics, heritage, law enforcement and medicine. He leads a WMG, University of Warwick, team implementing transformational manufacturing engineering and dimensional management and perceived quality practices. Digital technology he applied to forensic investigations and covert operations has provided compelling evidence to over 350 homicide trials across 30 UK police forces. His 3D scanning research proved Oxford’s Museum of Natural History’s Darwin Dodo was murdered by 17th century hunters and that an artefact recovered from a 1503 shipwreck was the world’s oldest marine navigation tool.
