Nicholas Smallwood is CEO of the UK Government’s Infrastructure & Projects Authority, accountable for the oversight, support, and assurance of over £800 billion of the most complex Infrastructure, Defence, IT, and Transformation projects. He heads the Government’s Centre of Excellence for project delivery and leads the Project Delivery Function in government. This appointment followed an international career with Shell culminating in him being appointed as the company’s Chief Projects Engineered of Shell’s project engineering function and Vice President for Projects Engineering. An active supporter of the Association of for Project Management (APM), in 2022 Nick's contributions to the profession were recognised with an APM Outstanding Achievement Award.
