Dan Rodenhurst is Director General of UK Defence and Security IT and created the first worldwide, multi-agency, shared technology services organisation working at the highest security classification. He is pioneering the use of hyperscale cloud in national security, building on his extensive experience of secure IT delivery requiring significant engineering innovation. An accomplished engineer and recognised expert, he has led engineering organisations in oil and gas with Shell; consumer goods with Tate & Lyle;, high tech with Accenture; and in three different areas of defence and national security. He is special adviser to the Board of the National Physical Laboratory. An advocate for the next generation, he started the flagship Defence and Security Emerging Technology Leaders Programme.
