Advanced Projects, Technologies and Manufacturing Director, BAE Systems Air 

Excelling in introducing new production technology and techniques, BAE Systems-Air Director David Holmes OBE created a world-leading manufacturing system making F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter fuselages. The collaborative Factory of the Future project he conceived is helping the UK to secure a part in the Typhoon replacement programme, worth £100 billion through life to the national economy. The BAE Systems Academy of Skills and Knowledge he founded enjoys a 72,000 annual footfall, providing staff with lifelong up-skilling and local schoolchildren with STEM exposure. He has also introduced the company’s supply chain, equipment suppliers and academic partners to integrated additive manufacturing, delivering notable scale.
