Dr Antony Rowstron FREng
Principal Researcher and Deputy Lab Director, Microsoft Research Cambridge
Dr Rowstron is widely recognised for his outstanding contributions to computer science, especially in the areas of distributed systems and storage in both industry and academia. His pioneering work in distributed systems, as one of the original inventors of a class of decentralized algorithm that became known as Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs), has impacted products as diverse as the original Skype product, Microsoft Windows and the Service Fabric for the Azure cloud.
He is also recognised for providing senior leadership in Microsoft Research where he is a Deputy Lab Director.
