Visiting Professors Guide

This guide has been compiled from the experiences, insights and collective wisdom of seasoned Visiting Professors (VPs) and Academic Champions (ACs), in addition to observations made by all of us who have  involved in the scheme historically. It has been structured in an ‘FAQ’ format, addressing the most commonly asked questions from newly appointed VPs.

Annual and Mid-year reporting (Updated June 2023)

The Academic Champion (or the assigned university contact) must provide the appropriate reports twice a year. The exact deadline dates can be found in your contract. Follow the relevant guidance document for each reporting period and supplied template for further information. The report will be reviewed and must be satisfactory for further payments to be released.

The Annual Reports must be submitted to the Academy on the online grant system, by logging into your account and accessing the RAEng Portal page on the top right of the screen or clicking here. You do not need to complete the report in one sitting as you may save your work as you go along. Essential guidelines are provided in the relevant documents for each report type. You must use the template to the right to submit your reports.
